FOA is a young faculty. It is recognized that adjustment of the program is necessary and a priority in the creation of successful study programme that would be compatible with EU standards, thus enabling higher mobility of students and staff .

Study of Architecture in Montenegro and Kosovo under UNSC Resolution 1244/99, are based on the same education system.  Such system of study is not compatible with the one existing in EU. Adjustment with EU schools of architecture is the common goal of all regional partners. The only way that would provide distinctive architecture studies at the international level is to restructure the existing curricula,  and harmonize it with the existing good practices in EU. The way to do so is  move to five-year study, Long Cycle Integrated Master Programme.

Specificity of architecture is the fact that it is a regulated profession. The law on regulated professions being adopted in Montenegro(from January 2011.) created a  a framework for all regulated professions to harmonize its criteria and procedures with European ones in order to be able to practice certain regulated profession. This is extremely important from the aspect of Montenegrin accession to EU, and the harmonization of its legislation with Acquis Cimmunitaire. That is their common goal of all WB countries in the period to come. The first step towards it is the complete restructuring of  the curricula in architecture. Therefore, EU partners and their experience would be essential to provide advice as regards teaching methodologies, course content, assist in fulfilling EAAE requirements and thus enable that curricula in architecture becomes more recognizable at the EU scale.  It would also contribute to the higher mobility of academic staff and students and better cooperation between higher education institutions. To be successful in this exercise, role of  non-academic partners, such as Council of Higher Education, Chamber of Engineering is of huge importance.
