Green Tech Western Balkans represents an integral part of the Erasmus Mundus action, which includes Western Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia. This action has enabled 153 scholarships (28 for European students, 125 for students from the Western Balkans) within the cooperation in higher education, research and innovation related to the field of ecological technologies. Green-Tech-WB is a program that allows students to transfer knowledge and research from European higher education institutions and use itin the Western Balkans in order to contribute to better governance and social cohesion of the Region, as well as its more active involvement in the flows of the global economics.
Coordinator of the project is Universidade de Vigo (the University from Spain), while other European partners are the following Universities: the University of Porto (Portugal); Paderborn University (Germany); the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia); the University of Economics in Katowice (Poland); the University of Split (Croatia); the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Bulgaria); the University of León (Spain).
With the full support of the Erasmus Office in Montenegro, the University of Montenegro and the University of Donja Gorica got an opportunity (for more than 30 associates and professors) to participate in the international exchange and stay at the European Universities. In addition, as a result of Green-Tech-WB (the Erasmus Mundus project), bilateral cooperation between Montenegrin universities and European partner institutions has been established.
Since 2008, the University of Montenegro has participated in 16 Erasmus Mundus partnerships, and within these partnerships, about 300 students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the University of Montenegro stayed at exchange at partner universities.
